Pastor Myra loves the Word and loves to teach it.  “Jesus died so we could live . . .  not die and I love seeing the Word transform people’s lives from dead dreams, dead relationships, and dead emotions to life . . . to living the abundant life Jesus provided.”  Over the past 23 years, Pastor Myra has served in three churches in the Piedmont area.  She is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and it is the NC District of the Assemblies of God that asked her to pray about planting a church.  As Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Assembly in Kernersville, North Carolina she is excited about not playing church but ‘being’ the church. 

Pastor Myra graduated from Piedmont Baptist College in 1998 with a double major, in Bible and Music Education.  Her passion is to help believers realize their place and importance in the body of Christ and to impact those around them. 

Myra is married to Gray Thomason, and they have two children, Jake, 21, a student at UNC-W in Wilmington, NC and Hannah, 19, a student at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
