What We Believe
WE BELIEVE...The Bible Is Inspired by God and declares His design and plan for mankind. We therefore believe that the Scriptures are God’s revelation of Himself to mankind, they are never wrong, and they are the divinely authoritative guide for our faith, belief, and manner of living. II Timothy 3:15-17; I Thessalonians 2:13; II Peter 1:21
WE BELIEVE...There is only One True God – revealed in three persons...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity). Isaiah 43:10,11; Deuteronomy 6:4; Luke 3:22; Matthew 28:19; John 14:26
WE BELIEVE...In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus, God’s son, was both human and divine; He was both God and man. John 1:1-14; John 8:58; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 7:23-28
WE BELIEVE...though originally good, Man Willingly Chose to Sin – ushering evil and death, both physical and spiritual, into the world. Genesis 1:26,27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12-19
WE BELIEVE...The Penalty of Sin Has Been Totally Paid For by the Atoning Work of Jesus Christ – Thus Salvation is Available to Anyone Who Chooses to Accept Christ’s Payment. Mankind’s only hope of redemption from the fallen sinful state is through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son. Salvation is received as a person confesses his need and his sinful condition, repents for his sins and receives by faith the atoning work of Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8,9; Romans 10:9,10; Ephesians 2:8,9; Hebrews 10:10
WE BELIEVE...and practice two ordinances—(1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation. Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47,48; Romans 6:4; Luke 22:14-22; I Corinthians 11:23-33
WE BELIEVE...the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Subsequent Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service. John 7:37-39; Luke 24:44-49; Acts 1:4,8; Acts 2; Acts
WE BELIEVE... The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles. Acts 2:4; Acts
